1. Assistant Librarian (Sl. No.6)

Essential Qualifications

1. Master’s degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade of 55%, where grading system is practised and a consistently good academic record with knowledge on computerization of Library;
2. Pass in the National Eligibility Test (NET) or other accredited test like SLET/SET in Library Science conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other Agency approved by the UGC; and
3. Ph.D degree as on the date of notification, those candidates who are awarded a Ph.D degree through a process of admission, registration, course work and external evaluation as laid down in the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for award of M.Phil/Ph.D degree) Regulations, 2009 and as adopted by the University shall be exempted from NET/SLET/SET.

Note: Those candidates who have applied against the earlier notification need not apply again. However, they may update their bio-data if they have acquired any other qualification/experience subsequently (without application fee).

2. Professional Assistant (Sl. No.7)

Essential Qualifications

1. MLISc degree from a recognised University
2. At least 3 years’ experience as Semi/Junior Professional Assistant or in an equivalent grade in a Library of a University/Govt. or Semi-Govt. Institution/Aided College/Research Institution
3. Adequate knowledge in Library automation and proficiency in computer applications

Age: Between 25-40 years

3. Semi-Professional Assistant (Sl. No.8)

Essential Qualifications

1. BLISc from a recognised University
2. At least 3 years’ experience in a Library of a University/Govt. or Semi-Govt. Institution/Aided College/ Research Institution as Library Assistant or equivalent grade
3. Adequate knowledge in Library automation

OR

MLISc and proficiency in computer applications.

Age: Between 25 – 35 years

4. Library Assistant (Sl. Nos.9 & 10)

Essential Qualifications

1. BLISc from a recognised University
2. At least 2 years’ experience as Library Attendant or in an equivalent grade in a Library of a University/Govt. or Semi-Govt. Institution/Aided College/ Research Institution
3. Adequate knowledge in Library automation.

Age : Between 21 – 35 years

5. Library Attendant (Sl. Nos.11 & 12)

Essential Qualifications

1. Pass in Class X or equivalent Certificate
2. Pass in Six month’s Certificate Course in Library Science run by an institution of good standing

Upper age limit – 45 years

Note: Persons having higher qualifications than prescribed, except technical qualifications in the field, shall not be considered for these posts.
